How do I turn off the visual feedback (flashing) on screen keyboard?

I have started using an ASUS slate and find the Windows on-screen keyboard almost impossible to use because of the way the keys flash after you touch them (or even hover over them) - the fade delay is way too long resulting in a mass of flashing keys when typing with any sort of speed. I would have expected this to be a setting under the keyboard options or general personalization but no amount of digging or Google searching has turned anything up for me. Does anyone know how I can turn this off or at least reduce the fade delay time?

Not yet - still as annoying as ever. Figuure I might just call Microsoft directly.
