How long have you guys been using Windows 7, I have been a user of it for 3 years now

I can't remember but I had a look at it on my Vista machine when it was in Beta and installed it on that machine on launch day, so that long.

I guess I'm the baby here (never mind that I'm 64 now). I didn't start using Win 7 until I bought my current notebook last year in late June. I stuck with XP for as long as I did because of hardware and software compatibility issues which didn't get fully resolved until shortly after I got my notebook (my laser printer was the last hardware "holdout"; I also had to replace a scanner with two new ones). I've since replaced my XP desktop (the machine itself was a POS from the word go) with a home built machine that I put Win 7 Ultimate on.

I liked XP, didn't like Vista for various reasons (the lack of backward compatibility with some of my hardware and software—the expensive stuff, of course—being the worst offense), but had no problems with deciding on upgrading to Win 7 due to the positive posts I had read. I was expecting a steep learning curve when I got my notebook last summer but I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was (granted, I still have a lot to learn, which is why I still hang around here bothering you all). As much as I liked XP, I love Win 7 even more and, since the abominable Win 8 fiasco (I'm toning it down to keep it clean), I plan on using it until its last dying gasp (I even have an extra retail copy of both Ultimate and Home Premium).

Since around Mar 16 2011. I had been wanting to try w7 but my XP machine was doing well. We had a break-in and it was stolen with other items so I had to build new so 7 was the choice.
