Okay, anyone still with me.....
All of a sudden there are some .exe extensions.
these were not here before honest.....
I have....

install.exe but not a PM logo

PMUSERapp.exe

PMW.exe Not a PM logo

anything sound good?????

Can you right click on the Printmaster file in the start Open programs, and then click on Properties ?
If you can, what does it show ?

Can you post the screenprint of the Properties window for your Printmaster file in the start Open programs ?
My 1st screenprint example is for the ImgBurn program, but it shows how I got to the properties where the path is displayed.
I right clicked on ImgBurn to start this ...

Another way you can see where a program is Task Manager / Image Path Name.
My 2nd screenprint is an example of that.

it is a folder not an icon

start, program, PrintMAster 18.1

Location: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Start\Pr

that's what it says.

I can do the open program and get to the file for PM18mand open and screensave but do not know what to do after that to post on the forum....so sorry

It's probably the PMW.exe that is the PrintMaster program you are running.

Your original problem says you cannot open Printmaster (.sig) files on the Desktop.

I have .sig files (PrintMAster files) that will not open. I click on the files, Open With box opens and there is no PM to associte with it. Then I Choose Other Programs ansd it is not there either.
My PM program runs, nut will not open PM files on the desltop.

Can you open the .sig files from within the PrintMaster program when it is running?
Most programs have a "Open" option somewhere in the "menu" ...

Well, we didn't need the Disk Management screen print - that was my mistake.
But, you did see you can post a screen print here, and that's good .

Right now I think you should post a screen print of what you see with the PrintMaster program running.
I don't have PrintMaster, so you have to show me and everyone trying to help, what you see.

Yup, unless someone here has the program you have, we are shooting in the dark.

What "menu" options do you have in the PM program ...
Can you open a .sig file?

Right now, I think you are the only one that knows.

I think it's best to post openly in this thread ...
I'm no guru and others may have better ideas, or correct me if I say something wrong or stupid.

If we can't get to the bottom of this in this thread, you may do need better "hands on" help than me...

David, can I call you DAVID???? You know we have been at this for HOURS. Did you get some dinner????

Printmaster opens .sig files. It is a Broderbund program and every project I make is saved as a .png

Broderbund cut off its support as they made newer versions. I have over 200 projects, pics and crafts in my program that can't be opened by anything else.

The newer versions they have will not open my old version projects.

I can open a PrintMaster File while I am in the program with an Open New Project. Just not on my desktop.
Because I have so many projects it tawes forever to open so I like to have a fileon the desktop when working on a project.

With that reply, I see I misunderstood the real problem.
If Broderbund cut off its support for your version, the way you want to use it, I can't help.

Maybe they have a forum with other people having the same issue ???
You could also try googling to see if you can find others with the problem, and if they found a solution ...

I seem to always find dinner and food when needed - no problem there

David i give up too.....but remember wheni told you I clicked on the install.exe and it changed the icon on my file on the desktop. Well , all my sig files are now opened by install.exe. which of course doeas not open them.,....
Is there any quick easy way to take this program OUT of the open with window, Please I promise not to bother you again.

No, I don't remember ...
But, if you installed an old program that is not compatible with the OS you are using and it somehow ran, who knows what might have happened ...
I've seen that with other programs, someone I help installs an old program they have, it wasn't compatible, and "what a mess" ...

Do you have a Restore Point (or backup image) from before the problem started?

It's probably the PMW.exe that is the PrintMaster program you are running.
