This will not help much...
open Windows Media Player, CTRL-U and copy in the URL you want to play.

I have not found any better way to play Internet Radio on WMP 12 yet. Hopefully someone else will have a better way. This is a bit 1960s!

This is what I get when I tried to play rm9player
Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or a required codec might not be installed on your computer.
On XP it plays ok. What codec is needed for this?

Windows: How To Create an Application Shortcut to a Radio Stream URL

I've done this with Windows 7.

Rt-click on the Desktop and select New -> Shortcut

Browse to the Windows Media Player, or, the path on my computer should likely be the same, so try copying and pasting this line:

Code:
"C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe" http:\stream.jackfm.co.uk:8000

Continue finishing the shortcut and there you have it.
Anyway, you can create a folder, then copy your shortcuts there.
And, you can change the http line to any valid URL stream for each new shortcut you create.
