Hello, my net book has an insanely bright screen, and using the function buttons to dim/brighten the screen is close to pointless, because it's range from bright to low is barely noticeable. It gives me a headache.

So, how (if possible) can I dim the screen from windows 7? Something from the control panel?

Note: My netbook has windows 7 starter, not windows 7 home.

start typing power into your start-menu searchbox, then choose power options from the search results.

there should be a screen brightness button on the bottom. it doesn't go very far down though for me and my netbook.

*edit* oops - sorry, i think this is exactly what the keyboard brightness control alters...

maybe there is a setting in your bios?

you'll probably be glad of this brightness if you use your netbook outdoors on a sunny day, but that doesn't help your problem though.
