Hi!

I have a Logitech Webcam and I don't know why but it wants to update itself via Windows update.

Is there a way to disable this, not only hide but disable from appearing in my Windows updates list? Thanx!

You should only Hide it. Hiding it will keep it hidden in "Select updates to install", you will not be notified too. I don't find any reason why you should obliterate it, keeping it hidden is a sufficient practice.

Hope that helps!

The thing is that I don't know how can a Logitech update "get" itself into the Windows updates. I don't like it being there. :D I never see any other than Microsoft updates there and now there's this Logitech update which I don't even need. How is it even possible that it got there?

The fact is updates are there for stability, fixes. Graphics Card, Chipset, Network drivers are intentionally included in Windows Update for an essential reason. So that answers your naive question. Again, why would you want to obliterate it?

Usually, updating your drivers will avoid BSODs as obsolete drivers are frequent causes of BSODs/System Crashes. Updating your driver will do you good. As for now, you feel no need to install it.

As I've said, the tutorial will show you how hide it. Right Click on the Update and Click Hide Update.

I've gotten Logitech updates before. I usually use the Microsoft drivers for my mouse. I too thought it was kinda weird to see, but it happens. Like Ken said, update it or hide it... your choice! :)
