Hi, I am using Windows 7 Ultimate on my Pentium 4 2.80 GHz PC. I want to try out the Windows Aero UI in it but I don't have a supported graphics card for it, I have an integrated 92.6 MB video memory in my "Intel 82865G Graphics Controller", and it is not supported by Aero. I cannot buy a PCI/AGP graphics card because they are hell expensive and not much available in the markets , so, I want to ask that is there any way to use Windows Aero without a supported graphics card by hacking the Windows Registry or something? Please Reply Soon!

With a P-IV and a 82865 chipset you probably dont have the resources to force it. If you do force it, it will run very slowly and be unstable.

If you still insist look here. Force Enable Windows Aero Glass or WDM on Unsupported and WDDM-Incomptible Graphics Card » My Digital Life

Why would you want to? Your specs are strained as it is running win7 ultimate, and enabling aero would make it painfully slow. Not much help I know, just a thought :)

Sorry for the late reply... but I would be VERY surprised if forcing Aero works with your chipset. The first Intel chipset to support Aero was the 945 series. I have a 915 series PC, which has a newer Intel chipset than yours, and it has NEVER supported Aero.

So, if it works -- great! If it doesn't, there's nothing you can do to FORCE it to work. Period.

I agree with Mark, I have the same board series of D915, it is not working with this upgraded system also, then, i think, no need to experience problems.....
