Hi,
Is there any one of getting rid of one os in a dual boot? i wanna get rid of win7 which is in my C drive and keep vista which is in my D drive , any kinda software or a way to do it simply without editing the boot inf thingy ?? and also when i am on win7 my vista partition drive changes to F drive and when i am on vista changes back to D not sure if that has to do anything with getting rid of one os but just incase does't conflict with anything.
Thanks in advance

Look into Disk Management and tell us which partition is marked as active. My guess would be it is the Vista partition. But we need to know for certain so that you do not lose your Vista MBR.

Hello ringo14, welcome to Seven Forums!

From the snip you posted, D: is Windows 7 that you want to do away with, is there data you want to keep on E: and F:?

If not you could use Option Two in this tutorial at the link below to get rid of W_7 and reclaim all that space back into Vista at the same time; though if you go that route I'd do a wipe to the W_7 partition before you did the resize.

Partition Wizard : Use the Bootable CD

Edit: I see Barefoot was posting at the same time a better solution using his tutorial with screenshots:

Since your two middle partitions are empty just use free Partition Wizard bootable CD to delete the first three partitions, then rightclick Resize Vista partition, drag left grey border all the way to the left to take up full disk. Then slide the right grey border to resize the right side of Vista if you want to make space for data partitions to its right. Click OK.

Next rightclick Vista partition to Modify>Mark Active, OK. Apply all Steps.

Now boot into Vista DVD Repair console or Repair CD, click through to recovery tools list to run Startup Repair up to 3 separate times with reboots until Vista starts on its own.

As Greg has said you will need to do at least 3 startup repairs with restarts to Vista, have a look at this tutorial at the link below to give you a better understanding of the process though you can do the repairs after the resize as the Option Two in the PW tutorial shows you.

Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times

Good work. Did you have to mark Vista partition Active first?

How many times did you have to run Vista Startup Repair before it started?

I am asking because I can't remember exactly how automated Vista Startup Repair is - not as much as Win7, I don't believe, and even Win7 sometimes requires the partition to be manually marked Active.

It detected that i have a problem on the 1st go and then took me 3 reboots to make it work
