How to get rid of Multiboot all together?! (Not just one OS)

Hi,

I am planning on installing a second Windows on my computer (Multiboot). I read a few articles on how to do it, and on how to delete ONE, of the two Operating Systems.

However, I am not sure what to do, if I wanted to get rid of BOTH Operating Systems, and install a "fresh" Windows again?!

To get rid of both, simply format the entire disk after backing-up any data you want to keep, and then perform a clean install.

If one of those operating systems was a Linux distro, then I would also recommend performing a CLEAN using DISKPART during the clean install:

Interesting?! I haven't downloaded the program yet, but I would think that you do the format after you boot form it, take it out and put a Windows CD in, right?!

Right, the bootable CD contains a fully operational program which we all use for many disk operations. Very handy because it can do a lot of things that are impossible with Disk Management. Highly recommended.

There is also a version that you can install on your system. But with that you cannot manipulate the C partition - obviously.

There is a whole collection of video tutorials on this page in case you are not sure how some operation functions.

Great info! I will download the program and play around with it... I will also take a look at the videos.

My OS drive is on a two disk RAID 1. Is that a problem!?

I never tried Raid myself, but it should not be a problem. I always avoided Raid because of the complications. Since 5 years I go with SSDs. I use them even for externals now.

I never tried RAID either, this is my first time. I just bought a Dell PowerEdge T620. It has two 256GB SSD's for the OS installed. They are in RAID1, so if one disc fails, no problem. Then there are four 1TB drives in RAID5. Lets see how it all works out, ha ha.

I do a lot of video work too and work with internal and external SSDs as well as an eSata attached SSHD and an i7 CPU. Works well. I use a lot a lossless video editor. That renders the selection in seconds.

So you only need to follow the steps in Clean Install Windows 7 making sure to delete all partitions using the Drive Options in Steps 7 and 8, create New partition(s) as you wish, install to first partition after the small boot partition which will be assigned and is no concern at all.

I never used diskpart before, but I just looked it up and it seems to be pretty straight forward!? Anyhow, I installed a second OS, just to see if it would work. I went to 'disk management' and shrunk my volume C. after that I followed steps 6 through 8, from this guide:

and installed Windows Server 2008R2. I can now choose which version I would like to boot. That being said, I am wondering if I can use the same steps and delete ALL partitions, create a new one and then install Windows again!? I think so...
