How to install MS Office 2010 Academic on Win 7 Home Premium??

I recently re-installed Windows 7 Home Premium on an older desktop for a friend. I used the DVD to install MS Office 2010 but it halts part way through. I tried it three times. Finally I copied the disk files to the hard drive and ran setup.exe from there but still no joy. It still halts in the same place.
Any ideas?

How long do you leave it when it "halts"? I'm just asking because I've had Office installs take 5 minutes, and I've had them take an hour, just depends on the computer.

it doesn't halt, it just becomes very slow (my office installation was on a high-end gaming computer, but it still took over 3 hours)
Just wait it out.
