Solved HOW TO KNOW ISO WIN INSTALL IS not corupt

I went to download win7 from microsoft with a Dell product key. Microsoft says go to dell. I go to dell and dell says no you cant have this win 7 home preimum you have to update to windows 10.
WIndows 10 is not an option at this point.

I can use a flash drive with OEM windows iso files on it. I can use I then can use a disk called disk that is called 2016 drivers that is supposed to contain every driver known to man on it.

This all works. It is activated by Microsoft. Because I did not download the ISO from dell and I dont really know how to prove the windows ISO is lagit ... I am a little weary about doing this.

Does anyone know of a way to verify a windows install like this is legitimate ? Is their a way to prove out that when I do a install of windows in this fashion.
IF NOT
Is there a way to get a windows ISO file that is safer than just buying a flash drive like in the attachment.

Hi Don,

MS has "officially" dropped OEM downloads for W7.
However you can still get them from MS, never ever use/get them from a >>flash drive advertised site<<.

As Roy suggested, download the iso and use the COA key (on the COA label) to install /activate.

If the installed windows didn't ask for activation, it's probably cracked.

I am confused by these instructions. I have just a downloaded ISO file "Win7_HomePrem_SP1_English_COEM_x64.iso" There is no root to copy ? I need to figure out how to make up for this right ??
To make a copy of your Windows ISO file:
1. Click the Windows START button, and click WINDOWS USB/DVD DOWNLOAD TOOL in the ALL PROGRAMS list to open the Windows USB/DVD Download Tool.
2. In the SOURCE FILE box, type the name and path of your Windows ISO file, or click BROWSE and select the file from the OPEN dialog box. Click NEXT.
3. Select USB DEVICE to create a copy on a USB flash drive or select DVD disk to create a copy on a DVD disk.
4. If you are copying the file to a USB flash drive, select your USB device in the drop-down list and click BEGIN COPYING. If you are copying the file up to a DVD, click BEGIN BURNING.
When your Windows ISO file is copied to your drive, install Windows by moving to the root folder of your DVD or USB drive, and then double-click Setup.exe.

The "Root" folder just means explore to E: (or the drive letter of your USB stick) once the process of writing the ISO contents to the drive is complete.

There won't be a folder called root. It just means the lowest entry point in the device. A section of folders is referred to as a folder tree. The base of that tree is called the root.

Back in the Day it was c:\format /s /v and it was bootable. today its much more. what i get now is I did not really need to make my disk bootable. But I did it anyway. with getting a win7 dvd and accessing the \boot directory and using the command bootsect.exe as shown in

this will make an ISO bootable.
this will create a bootable or boot able flash from an iso

THese instructions show how to use the Windows USB/DVD Download Tool - Microsoft Store and make the usb thumb drive bootable. read carefully.

the root of a drive I understand. its c:\ or d:\ you can copy files there and there are no folders above it.

Does the computer you want to install win 7 is the one that you show on the picture on post 4?
Why don't you launch a Factory recover? It will format the C: partition and reinstall from an image from the Recovery partition.
You can Launch Factory recover from Windows or from BIOS.

Lets see if you still have the recovery partition.
Open disk management (C:\Windows\System32\diskmgmt.msc), expand the columns so we can read them. With the snipping tool take a snapshot and post here as an attachment. Use the paper clip - browse to the image file - upload

THis is it. Its there it exists there are wim files.
I tried marking that partition active but it did not boot to it it still booted to the other partition.
I did manage to create a bootable USB flash from the ISO that roy gave me. Currently I am doing that. But I want to know REALLY BAD how to recover from these hidden partitions. I currently have a post about that.
