How to only use half of the screen? :/

Exactly half of my screen(left side) got physically destroyed, so I've been using only the right half side of my screen(yea it is really tough).

I need a way to convert the half right side of my screen to full screen. Is there a way?
I use NVIDIA graphics/windows 7 64bit/15 inch wide screen

Which ever half of the screen is physically damaged will not work using what ever mode. Their/there is no setting or program that can fix physically damaged hardware.

I'm sorry I wasn't clear enough...there was a big misunderstanding from my question.


What I want is to use only the right side of my screen.
For example, right now, I have to arrange all my icons to the right side of the screen because I can't even see the left side and i cant see the windows taskbar on the left bottom corner. I want to convert the resolution or screen mode so that half of the screen shows up fully.(i know everything would proportionally become smaller)

Not possible. Windows was not setup in such away for such a configuration as no one would continue to use a broken monitor, they would replace it.

Have you tried using Aero snap to snap your windows to the right half of the screen?

Windows key and right arrow key pressed at the same time will shrink your screen to the right side only

Never found a "good" way to do this however there's a fairly simple work around. Define the left half of your screen as an empty ShAppBar.

It will act in the same manner as the taskbar when it's not auto hidden, with regards to placment of windows. It'll even maximize windows to only what's left outside the bounds of the ShAppBar, though I doubt fullscreen will work the same.. I am sure the taskbar shrunk too, so's not to be overlapped by it when I used it last.



It dawns on me now that you could probably use a dock type thing, something along the lines of rocketdock should have that functionality in it, providing you can configure it properly.


This was left for anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation, I'd hope by now op has this figured out.
