Solved How to recover Bios

When i start my desktop this shows a screen "recover your bios" and shows a list of H/W which attached to system which is HDD, RAM ,DVD-RW but not detected the keyboard and mouse and After 15 second system goes shut down. So i try to update bios via USB with change the setting of Jumper , so after attaching USB flash drive the keyboard and mouse detected but Updating bios not solve the problem. After updating bios same screen appear.
My Motherboard model is " Asustek P5KPL-AM IN " and system is assembled.

Avinishrat mate the machine looks like it is in a bit of a pickle - can you get to the BIOS as we do not have any system specs it is hard to decide what F key you need to tap on power up to get to it.

Also this looks to be an older board and I don't know but maybe you have cooked the BIOS firmware by whatever means. The update for this board's BIOS is here https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P5KPLAM/#support but how you get it set I am not sure.

Can you get into safe mode > power on and tap F8 and try these if you can by typing in Start cmd and run as admin see this

thanks for your suggestion. First thing is that my system shut down after mother board company logo mean a screen appear which shows a list of H/W that attached to system and prompt a message which "please enter setup to recover bios". For this i try to update bios via a USB flash drive and do this successfully but after this problem still remain.

Second thing is that no bios found system doesn't start so no any chance to run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker and start in safe mode.

Avinash mate what that actually meant was you were meant to go into the BIOS and to do that one has a dedicated key that is pushed / tapped on power up say for example I use DEL for my ASUS board but have a look at this it will show you what I mean BIOS Access Keys for Popular Motherboards (ASUS, MSI, GIGABYTE, Etc.)

You did not need to do anything with a stick or such just tapping the right button / key when you turn on the power.
You should go into a screen like in the pic. In each of the sections there will be settings you can change etc but do not touch anything unless you know what you are doing.

Have you tried using the standard BIOS default settings? If you cannot get into any of those settings areas it may be that the BIOS chip is defunct.

If so I am not sure if that can be replaced on that board - I doubt it and that means another motherboard and getting one of that vintage in good condition would be reasonably difficult if at all

I wonder if using a rescue disk might do something as it starting and then shutting down sounds suspect to me now.
Now you will need to make a bootable disk with one of these on it 5 Bootable AntiVirus Rescue CD for Windows: Free Download > IGNORE the other stuff on this site and the Kaspersky rescue disk one is as good as any.
Now it means settings the BIOS to boot the machine from the optical drive but as you cannot get into it we shall just have to try and see if it will do that with a little luck.

PS Forgot can you get it to boot into safe mode by tapping F8 on power up - just a another thought.

It sounds like the OP's BIOS is corrupt and won't load. The recovery option is automatically activating and looking for a BIOS file to load/flash to try and recover. The hardware listed is where its looking for the BIOS file. That's what it sounds like to me anyway. Avinashrawat download a new BIOS file and make sure its the correct one for your motherboard. Put it on a fat 32 formatted thumb drive and see if the recovery utility lists it in the detected hardware. If it does select it and see what happens. I would also replace the motherboard CMOS/BIOS battery.

Did you put the jumper back to its default setting BEFORE powering up the machine? If not you have likely damaged the BIOS chip on the motherboard.

Yep there is that too! I was thinking along the lines that the update might have sort of don something nasty to it too.

1. Using the motherboard manual set your Cmos to default.
2. Make sure your jumper is put back in the proper position.
3. Boot your computer.
5. Do NOTHING more.
6. Let us know what happened or did not happen.

Yes Layback I agree with you and I must admit I was a tad confused reading the very first post and why that BIOS had been touched at all and why I wanted to get that sfc and chkdsk done in safe mode.

I was really tempted too to suggest some malware scans too but didn't as to me the original messages about hardware seemed odd that they should come like that. It leave me wondering what is loaded onto that machine right now, and how well the security has kept the OS from the nasties.

I solved my problem by Set the Jumper in proper position. Remove the CMOS for some more time (approx. 3 hours) and clear the Real time clock (RTC) RAM in CMOS.
