OK, stupid me installed TotalAV antivirus. It is a disaster! Worse than a virus. I unistalled it in the usual way, Control Panel>Programs and Features>Uninstall. But, it is still in Program Files x86 and it is still popping up windows. Malwarebytes removed a couple of items, but TotalAV is still on the PC. Does anyone know how to get rid of this junk?

Regards, Jim

Never mind. I used the Command Prompt to delete the TotalAV folder. Bye,Bye TotalAV.

I am glad that you managed to ged rid of it!

Did a System Restore not get rid of it?

When uninstalling software, Revo Uninstaller [FREE] is excellent. It has an option to scan for leftover items after the initial uninstall using an Advanced Scan option. You then just then tick everything and delete it.

Revo Uninstaller [FREE] => Revo Uninstaller.

I hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply! I am going to look at Revo. System restore wouldn't work because there were no restore points! The system had a failure of the boot drive and I had to install a Macrium backup that was about three months old. I am not sure why there were no restore points.
