I found an old HDD with Windows 7, when I turn the PC on , it starts the Windows 7 loading screen, and then it crashes with BAD DRIVER (or something like that), but it's too fast so I can't exactly see details

Startup Repair doesn't work either.

I found a Windows 7 installation DVD and I tried to use it to repair Windows, but it tells me that the version of Windows 7 on the DVD does not match the Windows 7 installed on the HDD

What steps should I do in order to make it boot?

Thanks

A install cd is the way forward but it needs to be the same version and service pack level can you load a cmd prompt then type winver ?

That can happen you have booted the win7 installation DVD media in the wrong mode.

If the installation is efi, you need to boot the media in efi mode.

If the installation is bios, you need to boot the media in bios mode.

32 bit win7 only supports bios mode.

Another possibiilty is that the installation media does not match the bit version of the installation.
