Hello Hikeman,

What method did you use to change the folder icons, what folder icons did you change, and did you already undo it?

Hey guys.
Thank you very much for your responses, your help, I appreciate it very much.
Thanks a lot.
First I changed my folder icons, which I found in deviantart.com (live folders by ~Drawder) and I did it with IconPackager from StarDock, but the I noticed that the smallest folders started to look like windows generic icons, I couldn't do anything about them! I didn't like it and I decided to get the Windows 7 standard icons everywhere. But when I tried to restore with IconPackager, it didn't do properly, some icons were messed up, like .doc files (MS office), .avi and some others and icons were missing from files which I downloaded! lat's say in Google Chrome. Like on the lower part of Chrome where the download bar is, icons of the downloaded files were not displayed, plus the USB flash drive icon in Windows Explorer, it got some kind of "audio cassette" on it :) (I'll attache the picture!!)
what I did is sfc /scannow !!! wich somehow fixed the problem with missing icons from "download bar, in Chrome and Firefox", I had to repair the MS office in order to fix .doc file icon and I needed to re install VLC to change .avi and other video types icons. What remains still is this "audio cassette" on USB icon (it's funny :) ).
I tried the "Icon Cache - Rebuild" suggested by Orbital Shark but "audio cassette" is still there !!!
Brink !!! thank you very mach for your response as well :)
If you have any suggestion how to get rid of the cassette, pleas tell me it's funny but I would rather remove it ))))
Thanks !!

Hikeman,

Since it's only the USB drive icon that is left messed up, you might see if using either OPTION ONE or OPTION THREE in the tutorial below to manually change the USB drive icon to the default one may be a suitable workaround. The default icon I get when I connect a USB drive is this imageres.dll,-36 icon below.

Hey Brink you are so cool man ))) plus very informed and smart ;) you are doing a great job !! I appreciated it a lot for all your help you are providing in this forum, I am am also very amazed how are you managing to do this much...?
anyways I used the third option, it was nice tutorial so was easy to do, I don't really like to have hidden stuff here and there, plus it may get deleted, so I that's why I don't use 1st one )))
thanks a lot and have a pleasant Holidays :)

P.S. (may a I add you in a Facebook :D if you u have an account of course!)
