Hello,

I'm running windows 7 ultimate 64bit, and I've been trying to figure out how to stop my sister from running two programs only, so far I haven't been able to do it using gpedit.msc, the thing is I see an option to stop all user from running software and then manually add the software that they are allowed but I find it very tedious to do since all I want is the users with standard accounts on my computer to be restricted from using two pieces of software only that I have, they can ran everything else. Can this be done?

Hello Eddie, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Option One in the tutorial below can show you how to use the GPEDIT option for just her user account.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/80605-applications-prevent-running-specified-programs.html

If you like, you could also use AppLocker to prevent her from running the programs.

Hope this helps, :)
Shawn

Thanks Shawn that worked pretty good, now I'm wondering if I could remove those two icons from their desktop without removing them from my desktop. Every time I remove the icons from their desktop they get deleted from my desktop also.

You're most welcome.

In Windows, there are two desktops. One for a specific user, and one for all users. You could move the shortcut from the "all users" desktop to your desktop location to do this. :)

Hidden all users desktop = C:\Users\Public\Desktop

Specific user = C:\Users\(user-name)\Desktop
