hi,

I am using windows 7 32 bit . there are 90 users . we have linux server and run an web based application using IE. Internet is accessed through a modem which is connected to the same hub which uses the web based application.

so everyone is having an access to the internet.

How do i restrict the internet facility to only to 3 or 4 users.

any guidance will be greatly appreciated

You have to do that on the Router/Gateway to the internet. Any restrictions placed on/in the OS and computer would limit access to your Local Server Web based programs.

There any many ways this can be done. It sounds like a business environment. We would need to know your network infrastructure or we can just speculate.

i am not sure the reply i am giving might answer to your question. i am a novice and do not know much about networking. we work on linux os with oracle 10g application developer suite forms and reports 9i. the application is accessed by users throuh IE . Internet modem is also connected to the same network as the server connection. hence every user is able to change the ip address and get internet connection. pl ask me quoting example so i can be able to give you more clear information.

sorry for the trouble
