How to use blueray Mutimedia Optical Drive

I just bought a HP P2-1117C desktop and the E-drive is a blueray multimedia optical drive with a burner. The user guide provided gives little info on how to use it and since I know nothing about the operation of this gizmo or burning I need some advice. I would appreciate some info about this item and any website where I can read about how to use it.

First thing I would do is check the specs from the HP site and confirm that it burns Blue-Ray as well as DVDs. I mistakenly purchased such a burner for my PC a while back and should have paid closer attention to the phrase "DVD Rewriter" on the box -- it burned DVDs, but it only READ blue-rays. I replaced that with one that burns blue-rays as well.

As to using it, to burn data media, you can use a free program like ImgBurn.

I don't know if ImgBurn actually can burn blue-ray movies, as I use the AVS product suite to convert stuff to blue-ray and burn using that.

How can anybody afford to burn blu ray's lol? With the option to stream, I will hopefully never burn another disk again, DVD or Blu Ray. I would however like to have a Blu Ray ROM/DVD-CD RW for ripping BR to my computer for streaming. The money invested in the hardware to stream media would even out quicker than one thinks given the price of BR media.

Oh, and to actually contribute to this thread: If it is indeed a Blu Ray Writer, surely HP would have installed some software on there to utilize it. May have to look in Programs & Features or some of the built in HP software to see if there is something that will do it.
