I am not touched by Windows Se7en

Is it me or I am just imagining it, I thought Se7en was supposed to be the touchy feely OS, the desktops answer to apple's iphone?

I have my trusty little touch screen sat here waiting for a touch screen revolution and he feels more like Elliot Ness!

I can definitely say that the screen ergonomics have not been tweaked and as for the video demo I saw of the 'touch' MCE app, that has definititely not filtered down so far to any release (we are supposed to be at a feature complete stage of the release).

Any pointers, info, guidance, welcome as my touch screen is feeling mighty lonely (sorry for the unintended pun 'feeling' or in his case, 'not-feeling')

Very interesting. I was also under the impression that the touch functionality was supposed to be considered important in every single enhancement and pre-existing functionality was supposed to be enhanced if it didn't give you a fuzzy feeling with the touch screen.

I wish I had some feedback here, but I dont have a touchscreen or tablet myself. I have been browsing for a tablet-netbook to use, but apparently the two terms contradict each other because netbook implies "inexpensive" and "minimalistic" and tablet implies "expensive" and "not a netbook". Maybe 7 was MORE for tablet PC's and physically touching with your fingers is more Microsoft Surface type technology which is right on the horizon?

I haven't seen any trendy adds for a Mac computer that is as fun to touch as people think their phone is, so maybe no one has really come close to replicating that feel on a computer just yet. I know there are patents and Apple has big plans and everything for touch functionality in their OS, but maybe it's just not there yet for any developer.

Tablet tools are a big step up from vista and xp. I cant say much for the touch side of things, as I only own a tablet. But I do appreciate some of the non-multi-touch gestures, such as swiping up on jumplists. I do remember reading that the touch gestures in windows 7 were made simpler and fewer in order to increase reliability of recognition.

on the topic of jumplists, it beats me why they didn't carry the swipe upward functionality for system tray icons. the number of times I've gone to swipe upward on the wireless icon and instead move it to the corral area is annoying.
