first of all, the laptop woks perfectly fine
but ... i think i think i messed up with the registry files using ( CCleaner or Revo Uninstaller Pro )
it started when suddenly a lot of my program did not work
after that i reinstalled " internet download manager " when i got this message " the program will not work as before because you used some program to force uninstall the program " or something like that
now the " Fn " key won't work to control the volume and control the brightness and these stuff .
i'm 99.9% sure that i messed up when i started to use "Revo Uninstaller Pro" to uninstall programs with the advanced mode ... after that i click " search " to delete the leftovers ... after the search i select everything and delete it : (

now how bad did i mess up ?

Using system restore go back 5 days before the problem began. Then stop the reg cleaners; that is what caused the problem.

When you clean the registry with CCleaner it asks if you want to back up - did you?

If so - right click on the file and choose 'Merge' to go back to where you were.

Or try System Restore as richc says

Revo sets a Restore Point for each uninstall. System Restore to before you began the Revo uninstall for that utility.

You need to make sure you only delete the Registry Keys and Files cued up by Revo which are in BOLD type, none others.

I believe the problems you are having with the factory Internet Download manager are because you are uninstalling a factory utility which enables those functions which now aren't working. If you want those functions to work ( and they won't in a clean reinstall) then SysRestore to before the removal and leave it alone.

If you are cleaning up bloatware on your computer, take the time necessary to research any unknown program or utility using Google until you know what it is and how it's used, or not. Don't remove any you are not sure about. Try unchecking them first in msconfig so they don't run anyway, but everything unchecked in msconfig should also be researched first unless you know for sure.

kak2a2, just do what the man says. In the mess you are in, you do not have 25 options. But you must have done more than CCleaner and Revo. I use both since many years and never had a problem. But for Vista and Win7, registry cleaning makes no sense at all.

Give that a try, if not satisfied go back 2 or 3 days more. Sometimes going back to the time that is "just right" is too soon.

Worst case scenario, use system image. Same thing as System Restore with one big difference. Your documents, pics, all your stuff are affected.

Open an elevated (run as admin) Command Prompt, type or paste this command:

vssadmin list shadows

and hit Enter. That will show all restore points. They are dated.
