Os Win7 home 32 bit. I have a dir in the c drive that is locked in read mode and has defied all normal attempts to unlock it. I have tryed in both normal and safe mode to change permissions in the security tab, I tryed taking owenership. Nothing works. I can make changes to the directory in safe mode but I can't change the permissions. I opened the super admin account in users accounts to try and reset the permissions that way. But I am locked out of the super admin by a password. I have never set a password for the super admin account. I am at a loss as to what to do about this directory, it is not the only one like this on the c drive, outside of doing a partition wipe and reinstalling everything. Everything installed on the c drive is backed up ether on a 2nd hd in a external usb case or on dvd. I learned that lesson the hard way. :banghead:
