Using process lasso theres an option with cpu but the question i have is what resources are effected by I/O priority? And does it make the hard drive work harder or does I/O use ram and just has little effect on the hard drive?

Thanks in advance :)

I/O stands for "input/output". It generally refers to hard disk activity, but can also be used as network traffic.

Changing its priority just sets the precedence when many processes are waiting to use the hard disk, those with higher priority getting the resources first, while the other must wait (the same concept as CPU priority, but for HDs). The hard drive itself won't work harder or softer (workload defines that), but just what program will use it first, therefore affecting performance when programs compete for disk access. RAM is also unaffected.
