I have to share a PC

I have to share a PC that I bought with my own money and let my little sister use it all the time. What concerns me is that I wanted a PC to myself that I can mess around with at will (not saying I'm trying to damage it), change the wallpaper and stuff, and clean install my OEM Windows 7 DVD again. But no, she has files on there and refuses to use a different machine (the others are lagging and slow for her daily activities). Help? What can I do and how can I convince her or my parents to have her give it back to me only? Sorry but if I can't use a PC without being techy, I have a bad day.

Hello Sean,

I guess in the worst case, you could create a standard user account for her to use. This way you will both have your own separate accounts that can be customizes how you each like without affecting the other.

Just be sure to password protect your administrator account so she can't log on to it.

Sure, if Sean had purchased another product key to activate the other installation with since you can't use the same key to activate more than one installation at the same time.

Set her up her own account and try to figure out what's wrong with the other pcs and try to make them faster so they will be usable so you can use the excuse that those work fine. I would fix the other ones up so they can't have excuses to use my own,that's what I would do.

i think the problem was letting her on it in the first place. as already said see if you can clean the other house computers so they run better .also hint to your parents to get her her own for xmas, you didnt say how old she is but as an older brother /sister surely no can mean no. in our house the oldest sibling usually calls the shots, until we (the parents ) step in when it gets out of hand or unfair.

oppostire in my house, my brother and sister(aged 3&5) call the shots, but its quite easy, i have an app on my phone called wifikill, i turn the internet access off , they go do something else, i hijack the pc, turn wifi back on.

Well, it's tough to ask my parents to get her own for xmas. Maybe I'm a bit impatient for that moment but things are a bit tight now.

heh, you shouldn't have allowed her in in the first place. Once she is in it's tricky to boot her off without starting a war.

Since selling the girl to slavers is not an option, your only hope is convincing her to store her stuff and programs on an external drive and let her use a limited account. (by moving her stuff I also mean moving the user folder to the USB drive, so that more or less 100% of her stuff is on that, follow this tutorial)
Or, if she is young/dumb enough, just do it without telling.
