I need help

Okay I got a gaming pc for Christmas the pc isn't even a year old really
but im having trouble with my physical memory..:/ its always over 10% when I first boot this effects my games it was never like that before I play minecraft mostly I used to get 130fps everything maxed out... and now I bearly get 90fps I have 8 gigs of ram?.. and a good graphics card could anyone help me out

What you are describing sounds totally normal to me.

I have 16GB installed and am using 12% on tickover.

10% Memory usage is nothing.

Well not too sure, but unless you are using 100% of your ram then that will not be the issue.

Have you updated your graphics drivers recently? Made any changes to the graphics settings in the game?

I suppose I should also ask what monitor you have, unless you have a top end one then most regular monitors have a refresh rate of 60. This means that anything over 60FPS is wasted anyway and may cause screen tearing.

I always turn V-Sync on in all my games as it is pointless my GPU running a game at 200+ FPS when my monitor can't display it.

Do you actually need 130FPS?

I would enable V-sync and forget about it.

I have a acer monitor if I enabled v sync in minecraft it would lag... it hasn't been the same I updated my video card drivers ages ago they don't have another update

What resolution is your monitor?

I have just been testing minecraft out on my HD 7970, with V-Sync off I get between 80-90FPS with maxed out settings and with V-Sync on there is NO lag and it runs perfect.

I will ask again, do you really need 130FPS compared to the 90FPS you are getting now? I would be very surprised if you could actually tell any difference in play.

I can bearly play on max settings now i used to when i first got the pc my monitor is 1970 x 780 i think or 1920

I just dont know whats wrong with it..

I am guessing 1920x1080.

Something more deep rooted must be wrong, if you can barely play it at 90FPS then it is not a FPS issue. Normally if the FPS dropped to below 30FPS then things would start looking worse and below 20FPS it would be juddering but only when you get to 10FPS or below it would be awful.

I am not too sure what to suggest really, sorry.

The max FPS you'll be able to make any use of is around the same framerate as the Hz of your monitor.

So, if you've got a 120hz monitor, then anything over around 120 FPS makes no difference in quality at all.

If you've got a 60hz monitor, which is the most common, then 60fps is the most the monitor will make use of.

That said, most games are designed to run at either 30fps [most common] or 60fps. The only games that actually make any benefit out of anything more than 60 fps are Stereoscopic 3D games run on a 120hz 3D monitor. [60 fps for each eye.] Even then, most only run at around 30fps for each eye.

Put simply, anything over 30fps isn't a problem at all. It's how a majority of games are intended to run in the first place. 60fps is nice, but there's no point to any higher framerate. It doesn't really do anything to improve the way a game looks or plays beyond that point anyway, and you're just wasting energy and creating needless heat pushing framerates beyond that.

If you've got stereoscopic 3D, then you might want to go for 120 in a stereoscopic game, otherwise there's no good reason to have a framerate that high. For the vast majority of games a framerate between 30-60 is fine and more than 60fps has absolutely no benefit.

I think I covered that already bud in post 5. I think he is having other issues that need sorting and it's not a Frames per second issue.

What exactly is it doing? From what you've told us nothing is wrong with it at all. There's not much we can tell you based on your previous post, but what you've described so far is just Minecraft running the way it should.

Is it crashing, freezing, or lagging and stuttering? Are textures not loading? What exactly is or isn't it doing that it was before? What version are you using? Do you have mods installed? Did you update it with mods installed? Are you running Advanced OpenGL?

You've not given us much information and there is nothing wrong with the framerates you say you're getting.

The first thing that comes to my mind for general troubleshooting is that you might want to turn off Advanced OpenGl as some systems, even very powerful PCs, don't like that setting.

Monitors don't cause stuttering. It's an issue elsewhere.

It might be Java. Go to Start> Control Panel> Programs and Features. Then scroll down until you see Java. If you've got 'Java 7 Update 21' uninstall it. If you've already got 'Java 7 Update 25' (64bit) installed you don't need to install it again, but if not go here and install the 64 bit version of Java: Java Downloads for All Operating Systems

It should be at the top of the list just under the 32 bit version. 'Windows Offline (64bit)' is the one you want.

Note that deleting 'Java 7 Update 21' will mean that Java won't work with 32 bit browsers anymore. [Like IE or Firefox.] To get around this switch to a 64 bit browser. IE sucks anyway so if you're using that you should switch to a safer browser to begin with. IE is full of infections and malware because it's so commonly used. Honestly hardly anyone who knows anything about computers uses IE. Firefox is much more secure and has a 64 bit version called Waterfox which can be obtained here: Waterfox - Download - The fastest 64-bit variant of Firefox on the web

If you still have issues with the game I'd ask if you are using a Windows Aero desktop theme? I know it sounds weird, but using a custom or non-Aero theme can cause issues in some games with Windows 7. If not, try using one and see if that helps. Minecraft is one of the games prone to odd glitches because of it. Go to Start> Control Panel> Personalization to change the Desktop theme and be sure to use one of the Aero themes.

If that doesn't work? What version of Minecraft are you running? It says what version it is in the bottom left corner of the start menu. Did you mod the game and then update? If so you shouldn't do that. Most Minecraft mods require a specific version of the game to work.

If you've modded the game and it's giving you trouble, I suggest a clean install. Delete Minecraft and reinstall it. It's easy to do with Minecraft and doesn't take that long. If nothing I suggested above has worked, I'd suggest the same thing. Just reinstall Minecraft and see if things improve.

I have tryed everything you said nothing worked its still stays around 80 90 but it stutters its stressing me out i only got this gaming pc! It was never like that!..
