i think i have got virus

installed microsoft security essentials.is microsoft security essentials enough ?
Because it says that running any antivirus with microsoft security essentials may conflict with it?

You can run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware with it.

Personally I wouldn't rely only on MSE as my security, MS has even said it's not intended to be full protection. For $30-$40 USD per year you can get a good full featured security suite.

I'd personally agree with britton and Jacee because the basic four lines of security include:-

Firewall - Windows Firewall
User Account Control
Anti Virus Software - MSE/Any other good security software
Anti Malware - MBAM/Any other good antimalware software

MSE will not install if the Windows OS is NOT legit ... now that doesn't mean the OS is totally illegal, but if any new hardware, or an upgrade from a previous Windows installation with legit key hasn't been 'activated', then you will have to re-activate the OS by phone or online.

Gary we went through this a month or two ago.
Where somebody said somebody said that somebody said that Microsoft said this and that and that all it was.

They said that Holly Stewart was quoted buy never posted the quotes where Holly Stewart did say it. They would just send you to another site that said the Holly Stewart said this but never produced the quote from Holly.
Nobody to my knowledge ever found a quote from Holly Stewart stating Microsoft Security Essentials was inferior. It was just one of those somebody said Holly said and then to another site that they heard that Holly said this and that.

I know of no where Microsoft has ever stated that their security program was no good and recommend buying another protection product instead of using theirs. If that quote from Microsoft is out there I would like to see it.

As far as I can tell it's another somebody said that somebody said, that somebody said. All over again.

Hi..removed security essentials & installed kaspersky internet security 2013.i think most viruses comes from internet & now i'm fully relaxed after installed kaspersky internet security 2013 ?
I think it's more than enough,what do u think ?

I think you should keep MalwareBytes AntiMalware with you if all else fails. SuperAnti Spyware is also a good option. I think keeping MalwareBytes running alongside kaspersky will provide a great security barrier and also keep you tension-free of new viruses and malware. Keep in mind that always update both the applications whenever new virus definitions are available.

I use Norton Internet Security as the main security and run MBAM and SAS manually if I think something is amiss, also the Eset online scanner as well.

ok but why i keep malwarebytes,kaspersky alone not enough,i think it's more than enough ?
& i don't like malwarebytes at all,i don't why so many peoples recommending it.because there are many great antiviruses in the market.e.g kaspersky,bitdefender etc :sarc:

People recommend MalwareBytes because it just work is why. It is NOT an AV program.

Malware is getting more agressive all the time. The best defense is a good real-time AV product
AND
other trusted on-demand scanners

MalwareBytes is one of the best on-demand scanners out there.

While nothing is guaranteed - having a full regiment of tools and running them when an issue is first detected is your best shot at a clean system. Just because you don't like something, doesn't mean it isn't any good - lots of people don't like broccoli or spinach.

It is okay that you don't like some software but that doesn't mean it is not good. Nobody is forcing you to install it. People recommend it because it is a good choice to have . Anyways, we're all glad that you got your issue solved. Have a happy New Year
