I7 HD built in video...how to use

I have been way behind on current tech and I am sad that I have to ask this question...but...I am putting together a new I7 build for my stepfather and we have decided to use the I7's built in graphics instead a stand alone card. I have selected the ASUS Hero mb and I do see an HDMI connector on the motherboard's backplate...is this where you gain access to the built in graphics? A quick look on Newegg and I don't see any monitors with HDMI connectors but I am sure I am mistaken.

He does not game so he just needs basic graphics and I can select a stand alone low cost card but if the I7 graphics are there and the specs far exceed what he will ever need then we should use them.

How do use the I7 CPU's graphics capabilities?

After building your system and installing Windows 7. You first install the chipset drivers from Intel. Then you can install the Intel HD graphics drivers then the rest of drivers needed by device manager.

If you do not have a vga/dvi/hdmi connection at the rear I/O panel then you do not have imbedded video and well need to install a video card.

Most newer flat panel displays have hdmi or at minimum dvi connections.

The board I selected for this build has a HDMI connector so I will pick him a monitor that has that...did a quick look on the egg and just didn't see any with HDMI listed in the specs but I am sure they have plenty with it. Thanks!

The Asus Maximus VI Hero mb I found on the Asus site lists these rear panel outputs:

So, as you stated, there is no VGA or DVI output. Many current monitors have HDMI inputs so you shouldn't have any issues there. As an example, here's a page from the Newegg website that lists Asus monitors.
