Icons don't work whenever you click on them

Please help me.I am using windows 7 with a new samsung notebook. The problem is I can turn the laptop on and it shows icons on the screen. But the icons doesn't work whenever you click on them only the pictures does. I can't use the internet as well. The start icon doesn't work either. This just happened last night. What should I do? opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...^^

Welcome to Seven Forums bea. Do you have antivirus installed and working?

Do you have a system restore point from before this problem started? I'd start with that, but we'll need to see if there aren't other issues involved here. We can get you to the system restore point if you have it. You say it was working before, the internet and everything? Have you changed anything recently? Let's start there and see what you can tell us. A Guy
