When I connect to my PC from my laptop via Remote Desktop, it moves all my icons. Is there any way to disable this?

This probably happens from your laptop screen size being smaller/different than your desktop screen size, so it rearranges them all when you connect in order to display them on your smaller/different screen. Unfortunately, there's no way to prevent this that I know of other than connecting with a system of the same screen size.
