Hello all,
I have searched this problem and found many others have had it or similar. However none of the solutions seems to help. Everything had been working fine the it just stopped working. As I am the only administrator account no one could have downloaded anything, and I did not make changes. Auto updates are enabled.
When I try to go to most https sites, online banking in particular I get "Internet Explorer Cannot Display This Page" message. I am running McAfee Total Protection and did a scan and it found no virus.

I have also tried to Clear the SSL slate.
I have added sites to the trusted sites
Date and time are ok.
I tried to re-register my dll files. This is what happened;
regsvr32- urlmon, wintrust, dssenh, rsaenh cryptdlg, jscript, vbscript, oleaut32, softpub, urlmon all ran with no errors. regsvr32- initpki, gpkcsp, sccbase, slbcsp, actxprxy failed with DllRegsiterServer failed 0x8007005, Files not there?. Finally regsvr32-shdocvw, mshtml, browseui failed with entrypoint DllRegisterServer not found.
Interestingly, Mozilla will not work but Chrome seems to work ok.

Welcome mross,

Have you tried to Reset internet explorer.
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1222-internet-explorer-reset.html

Also run a SFC Scan.

Run the System File Checker that scans the of all protected Windows 7 system files and replaces incorrect corrupted, changed/modified, or damaged versions with the correct versions if possible:
  • Click on the :orb:
  • Type CMD on Search
  • Left click and Run as Administrator
  • Type SFC /scannow
Full tutorial here:

MSINFO32:

  • Please go to Start and type in "msinfo32.exe" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
  • Save the report as an .nfo file, then zip up the .nfo file and upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.
  • Also, save a copy as a .txt file and include it also (it's much more difficult to read, but we have greater success in getting the info from it).

KoolKat77 you rock! Thanks! The reset seems to have worked! Which is good as the scan found no errors.
