I just bought a 500 GB SSD, and I installed Windows 7 Pro on it. I was going to clone my drive, but the SSD to USB cable I ordered was from China and won't arrive for more than a month (I did not see that when I ordered it). The install took, but it didn't pick the USB ports, wireless, or ethernet up. Normally, I would go to the HP site, download the drivers, and call it a day. This time, however, I simultaneously cannot access the internet, my USB drive, or my micro SD (i.e., I have no way short of buying and burning a DVD to transfer the drivers to the drive).
I tried the generic USB drivers provided with windows, but it still wouldn't read the drive. Is there a generic driver for WIFI, SD, or USB bundled with windows that will work in cases like this? I am a programmer and consider myself to be a modestly advanced user (i.e., registry solutions and system hacks are fine). Thanks in advance.
