Hi all, I have an oldie but a goodie and am trying to install win 7 onto my 40 gig hd.
It's an Inspiron 1150 which has been a great laptop for years and am trying to install a copy of win 7.
I partitioned my hd and installed XP back on a small partition (8 gig) and am trying to install win7 on the remaining 30 gig. All was well until the win7 installer says:
"" A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD or USB flash drive, please insert it now. Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive you can safely remove it for this step."
After putting everything I have in the DVD drive tells me to load driver and that "No device drives were found. Make sure the installation media contains the correct drivers and then click ok"
Seems to read the DVD drive fine so I must be not understanding something.
Any help would be appreciated... Many thanks.
