Installed Chipset, Computer messed up

Hey guys, I recently had ram problems so I thought I'd install 'Intel Chipset Device' to help solve it. It did solve it, but now my computer is messed up. I installed it and what do I know, it overwrote all my system32 files and totally messed up my computer. I now have no internet drivers, I can't run applications and can't do anything of that sort. I can't even system restore because the chipset installation removed the files necessary.

What can I do now?

I have Windows 7 Home Premium with Intel Processor and Nvidia Graphics.

I've never had any problems with installing/reinstalling the Intel chipset drivers, either on my own PC's or client's PC's.

I wonder if you installed an incorrect chipset driver?

Try System Restore back to a point prior to installing the chipset driver and see if that helps. If not, if you have a complete backup you can use that to restore.

If the system32 folder is gone, only an image or a reinstall will help.

Before you make experiments like that, you should really take an image so that you can always backpaddle.

I agree on this one i don't think he has a choice, he will need to reinstall but then he would lose all his files and such.

When i get a virus so bad i can't boot i use a bootable kasperkey rescue disk. He doesn't have a virus but could he use something like that to backup files that he doesn't want to lose? Then reinstall 7?
What do you guys think?

Edit: If he had the 7 disk could he do a repair install?
