I'm 99.74% sure it was too.

Either way it's definitely back - still with the original 23/02/2010 publishing date iirc:

Perhaps the fact that it was gone was a bug? I know I've been experiencing some major bugs lately with my Windows 7 installation.

I've had quite a few friends that use genuine copies and have had problems with this update. Personally, I recommend not downloading it. It doesn't give you anything special, if anything, it'll cause you problems.

Not only does it not update anything other than WAT, but it also expands WAT so that it can download it's own updates without your permission.

So I went to Windows Anytime Update and purchased the Professional version...

It goes through a "certified windows" process to begin with (as being this is a new computer and loaded by the vendor - there was no issues)

I got the Professional verison running, complete with numerous programs in XP Mode

It worked for about a day..... then started getting all sorts of wierd things happening....

A) Part way through the windows load - it would state that I had to register my windows version - and when I hit the "update online" box - it would say that it is unavailable

B)When windows7 booted up - I have a black background (no Windows 7 background)

C) in the bottom right corner of my computer - I would get the "non geniune windows product text"

D) None of the Microsoft related pages (including my MSN homepage) wouldn't load - for security reasons

I attempted to due the "registration of windows geniune product countless times.... resorted to using the phone to register again to no avail

I restored twice... gone through all the XP Mode downloads again to come up to almost the same conditions....

Whether this is related or not - I have no idea.... but my computer clock was somehow no longer sync'd and my computer date was indicating 2007..... after I reset my clock to the proper setting, I restored for a third time... and back to normal..

(is this related to WAT)
