Yesterday I installed my copy of true image home 2009 on win7 RC1 on my desktop. Everything was fine up until I rebooted, at which point it would start the 7 loading screen, then it would go black and I wouldn't hear any more HD activity. After waiting for a few minutes, I hit the reset button. When it came up this time it asked if I wanted to repair. I just reset once more to try one last time before I attempted a repair, but no dice.

So I rebooted again and went through the repair option. It took a while (I waited a few minutes, then jumped in the shower and it was done when I got back), but at the end it said that it couldn't complete the repair successfully.

I rebooted yet again and tried entering safe mode, but after the loading of files finished, I arrived at a black screen with a green dot in the corner.

I haven't been able to get back in yet, but at least I did manage to boot ubuntu and copy my users folder over to my other drive.

There have been a number of reports of serious issues with that program on 7.

Are you able to boot the 7 dvd to system recovery options, select System restore and restore to a point before you tried to install TIH2009?

I will have to see if I had system restore enabled and give that a try. Should there be any problem booting an RTM dvd to do system recovery on an RC1 install?

The RTM dvd will be fine as long as it is the same bit version.
