Hey all,

Long time listener, first time caller!

I apologize if this is in the wrong subsection.

I swapped out mice from a Logitech USB optical to a MS Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 (favorite mouse of all time).

The mouse freezes after the pc has been asleep for a while. Disconnecting then reconnecting the mouse via usb resets it and it works; however its quite frustrating to have to do this every time. My suspicion is a faulty driver, but I've tried to reinstall the drivers to no avail. I've also tried disabling hybrid sleep and usb suspend without success.

The logitech worked without any issues.

Thanks in advance and happy holidays!

Additional info:

If I remember right there is a special software tool for removing all logitech stuff (on their website?)

Then run "Auslogics" regcleaner (after rebooting from above removals)

I've found what seems to be a temporary fix.

Switching the mouse usb to a 3.0 slot has corrected the issue; however this is not a temporary solution as I obviously want to have the 3.0 slots available.

thoughts?

-I'm working on trying to remove the Logitech mouse driver as we speak

i saw a suggestion while browsing the web that indicated putting the keyboard and mouse on different usb sets i.e. one top row/one bottom row worked. that appears to be working as well.

very strange bug. also, very surprised at the lack of input on this forum given the shear number of users

So far, both of the aforementioned fixes are working. Currently have the keyboard and mouse and different usb rows.

the proper drivers are installed (so i believe anyway) as I uninstalled and reinstalled several times while trying to diagnose the problem.

apparently the fixes do not work as the mouse tracker was frozen upon resuming from this sleep.

anybody have any recommendations or solutions?
