Unless someone else here knows, I would post in the Asus Forum asking how to boot that model directly to an MBR disk or bypass the EFI firmware.

If the mobo is less than a year old, you're also entitled to Asus tech support to answer the question for you.

4) The oddest (is there such a word? :O) thing of all though is that even with Windows uninstalled and my drives removed from my computer I still see the Windows Boot Manager option in my BIOS (although obviously when I tried to boot form it it did not do anything). Is it possible for an OS to integrate itself to the BIOS, therefore to create a relation between them?

YES, As the ASUS P8P67 has a EFI BIOS.

Which will show in Disk Management as a EFI System Partition.

Q. What about mixing and matching GPT and MBR disks on the same system?

A. GPT and MBR disks can be mixed on systems that support GPT, as described earlier. However, you must be aware of the following restrictions:
Systems that support UEFI require that boot partition must reside on a GPT disk. Other hard disks can be either MBR or GPT.
Both MBR and GPT disks can be present in a single dynamic disk group. Volume sets can span both MBR and GPT disks.
