Solved Intermittent BSOD

Hello,

I have been getting a random BSOD every once in a while for the past few weeks. It is incredibly frustrating, as I do a lot of video editing, and it has been so on-and-off, often in the middle of projects.
Given its sporadic nature, I am not quite sure what changes (if any) may have caused it.
If I could get some help, I would greatly appreciate it!

- x86 (32-bit) or x64 ?
x64 - the original installed OS on the system?
Windows 7
- an OEM or full retail version? Full retail - What is the age of system (hardware)?
6 months
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?)

I've also attached the minidump .dmp files from the program BlueScreenView.
I have the bug check codes 0x000000f4.
I tried researching this, but couldn't find out what exactly it means.

there is no specific driver that crashed, only "probably caused by winnt.exe" IO error

I suggest you uninstall AVG and test.

Looks like you have a lot of 3rd party drivers running.

Also, two pretty old drivers that you may need to take a look at:

I note you have AVG.
AVG can be a contributing cause of BSOD'S .
Please remove and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST

Thanks for the responses.

I removed AVG last night, and replaced it with ESET NOD32 (AVG was about to expire anyway, so I had just gotten ESET). After removing it, I tested it by editing my latest project for a few hours...
Believe it or not, but not BSOD occurred! It's hard to be 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure that solved the problem!

Why would that be the case?

Also, as for Sentinel64.sys, would updating it fix it maybe? If so, what's the best way to go about that? I don't know what software (hardware, even?) that driver is associated with, so I can't find the most updated version online--and I'm very skeptical of those all-in-one programs that claim to find all of outdated drivers and update them (Driver Detective, etc.).
What do you recommend? Are there some of these programs that are actually worth it?

No, you should actually be ok with the Sentinel64 version as long as your BSODs went away.

Thank you all again for your help! I just marked the thread as "Problem Solved."


This said, I have one final question:
What exactly do the Sentinel drivers do? If they can be safely removed, and thus aren't necessary, what are they supposed to be there for?
I tried researching them, but could mostly only find problems people are having with them, hahaha.

Sentinel appears to be a security set for encrypting information. That was the best information I could find. Sentinel Drivers| SafeNet

Not sure if that is the same thing you had installed?
