Internet connection sharing issue

Hi all,

I have a strange issue sharing an internet connection between two win 7 laptops. computer #1 is a lenovo T410, #2 is a Lenovo x220, the T410 is running win7 professional, the x220 has win7 ultimate. The T410 is receiving the internet connection via a USB dongle (Vodafone ireland mobile broadband). I have the x220 networked with the T410 via ethernet cable and the network connection is fine. I have internet sharing enabled on the T410 but the x220 says "no internet connection". The x220 has no problem picking up the dongle's wireless connection but will not work via ethernet through the T410 as a host computer. I have renewed the winsock on the x220 but to no avail.

Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum. On both pc open a cmd prompt type

ipconfig/all

post both results rge x220 should have a defaulty gateway set to the other pc and must be in the same local ip range

I can see that the LAN ethernet connection i'm trying to use has no connection-specific DNS prefix and no Default Gateway.

Is there a way i can find out what these should be and enter them manually?
