Hi Guys,

I am using Windows 7 64 bit Service Pack 1 and Internet Explorer Version 10.0.9200.16540 and I am having trouble with installing an Active X control.

I looked at my browser security settings (and everything appears to be OK), disabled my pop-up blocker... but I still can't install this active X control, when I go to this link...

NVIDIA Driver Downloads - Automatically Detect NVIDIA Products

All I am getting is "Initializing/Installing Component" but nothing else... no dialog box in yellow at the bottom of my browser window that prompts me to download and install the control.

Also... when I go into "Manage Add-Ons"... and go to "All Add-ons" I don't see that this control is even installed.

I need this active X control installed so that I can have Nvidia scan my motherboard driver and determine if it is the most current version.

If anyone can help me with this problem, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hey there,

It looks like you're not the only one. I couldn't get it either (using IE10 on Win8).
Could be a problem with the website.

Hi Dinesh,

You know what's weird... is that when I upgraded from IE-8 directly to IE-10... I did have this active X installed and enabled... but when I would click on the Motherboard Drivers button on this page ( http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us )... it acted like the Active X didn't even exist in IE-10.

So I removed the Active X :o and tried reinstalling it thinking that Nvidia would have a newer control available, but I can't even install the active X control now, lol.

Anyway I sent a note to Nvidia about the problem.

That's great. Lets hope Nvidia rectifies the error from their end.
