I updated Skype and it now fails to load. I see the little blue icon spinning but it never turns green to say I am online. I have tried installing it again and even switched my connection. The only thing that fails on this PC is Skype. I am gaming online and my connection is rock solid.

Is there a fix?

Hello Marshcaptain,

Could you try resetting internet settings via 'Internet Explorer' > 'Tools' > 'Internet options' > 'Advanced' > 'Restore Default'.
https://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737

If that does not help, please shutdown skype, by right-click on Skype icon on taskbar and clicking 'Quit' then start Skype again.
Else if no sucess, quit skype again and rename '%APPDATA%\Skype' to '%APPDATA%\Skype.bak', also delete '%TEMP%\Skype', then start Skype again.

Else try uninstalling Skype and reinstall with a fresh new Skype installation file.

Is your system fully updated?
Skype needs a recent version of Internet Explorer and dotnet framework.

Also see if the setting 'Automatically detect settings' is checked at 'Internet Explorer' > 'Tools' > 'Internet Options' > 'Connections' > 'Lan settings'.

Else can you try a reset of your Network adapter settings:
Code:
netsh winsock reset
