Never mind that bootrec stuff, hit it with bcdboot.
bcdboot win7partitionletter:\windows /s otherdriveactivepartitionletter:
You don't have bcdboot.exe in your installed windows, so do it from the booted dvd.
Hi SWI2, I have a similar problem, I tried the steps you have outlined in post #2 and above. With Diskpart, I get as far as "ACT" and then it tells me "no partition selected".
(I have 2 HDDs in RAID1. If I try DISKPART with each disk installed separately, status for Disk 0 is "Failed", disk 1 has no partitions, with both installed, status is "Rebuild").
With the BCDBOOT command, it says "failed to copy boot files". any ideas?
It says I'm posting from Win7 Home Premium 64bit, the relevant laptop had Win7 Pro 32bit.
