iPod Classic 160gb repair

My ipod classic 160gb, has black screen and it's flashing. It has cleaner damage in it. How do I fix the ipod? Would it need a new hard drive or battery in it? Or is there software I can use to repair it? It doesn't show up on my computer, and it doesn't install drivers at all. I'm using Windows 7 64 bit. Thanks.

Hey does screen show red apple with line through it, Before you go any further put ear to ipod and listen for click of death it will just click click with nothing happening.This means your hard drive is dead new hard drives are more than new Ipod classic . You could go to apple support and look up there ways to reset your ipod but if your hear the click that is tell tail sign of dead hard drive.
