Irregular behavior when installing Fonts in Windows 7

Hi everyone!
When i install a font in Windows 7, the fonts behave irregularly.
For instance, if I install the font family of Helvetica, write some normal text and turn the text into bold, it turns into italic instead of bold. And when I click the Italic button, it turns into Bold Italic. Why this happens?
Secondly, whenever I install a new font, and restart my PC, the "Segoe UI" changes to "Arial" or "Tahoma". To fix this, I have to reboot 2-3 times again. Please tell me how to solve this annoying problem. I am searching here & there for a solution. I also posted this in the Microsoft Q&A forum but I am not getting any professional help.

Thank you.

Hello MrBrinjal, welcome to Seven Forums.

To assist answering your question, could you please state what application/program are you using to test your Fonts? And where are you obtaining the Fonts from?

I use Microsoft Word 2016 (32-bit). I get fonts from many places, "cufonfonts" is my favorite. Other than that, I also get fonts from dafontfree, and websites I don't remember.
Well, I also want to state that I updated the Segoe UI font on my Windows 7 PC, from the Windows 7 style to Windows 10 style. The Windows 10 Segoe UI looks more modern and clean, that's why. I think all this misbehavior is happening after I did that. What do you say?:sarc:

Had you tried a Font Manager program, to search which fonts are successfully installed? For example, you may have installed the Bold Italic Font but not the Italic Font, etc. Using a Font Manager program will let you see visually, what is installed and what is not.

Windows 10 font may be different to Windows 7 font, because on a different computer, you would have a different (more modern) graphics card installed- would you think that is possible?

Also, make sure ClearType is turned on. ClearType improves the legibility of text.
To turn on ClearType, from a :orb: Search box, type cttune, and select entry from list of results. Make sure the ClearType tick box is ticked.

No I don't even know if such kind of font manager exists. And I haven't touched ClearType settings. It is turned on, I checked
The Windows 10/8 font I got is from a normal installation of Windows 8.1 in VMware.

Will Font Manager software help in any manner?
I clicked your link, and then install the font manager called FontBase.

@iko32 As I told you, I installed FontBase. But instead of fonts, it displays some weird rectangular symbols, not letters. :( And secondly, when I tried to search for "Times New Roman" which is, of course, a very common font. It said "No results found."... why?
