Is 7 Professional more stable than Home Premium?

I would not think so. In fact it may be the opposite because Professional has more function and therefore is more complex.

There is almost no difference between the two in terms of how often they crash. If you have 2 similar computers, 1 with pro and the other with home, with all updates and drivers installed, they will almost certainly not crash for a very very long time. Crashes are usually generated through 3rd party software, faulty hardware, and/or the user himself!

It's simply not true that XP Home crashes more than Pro. The same is true of Windows 7. It may be that your given install of XP Home crashed more because of faulty drivers, or faulty hardware, that wasn't the OS's fault.
The only difference between The Home and Business is the features. Windows 7 Business can join a domain, can use XP Mode, and several others.

I don't think so. I have a laptop with 7 Home Premium and it has not shown any higher propensity to crash than 7 Pro. In fact none of them have never ever crashed so far.
