Is it possible to change the way W7 positions/stacks opened folders?

Hello and welcome to the Forum, namenottaken,

While it is not possible to change the way Windows positions folders and applications, you can achieve what you want by using Aero Snap.

You can use Aero Snap by opening any two windows, then selecting Win Key + left arrow or Win Key + right arrow, to Snap the active window to either left or right edges of the desktop.

Another way of using Aero Snap is by grabbing the border of an open window with the mouse pointer, and dragging the mouse pointer into the left or right side of the desktop, with the mouse button held down.

Hope that is clear enough description to understand.

Thanks for your response, iko22. Yes, you can do it with Aero Snap or just by dragging one of the folders, which is what I usually do. But doing it this way wastes a few clicks. Most of the time when I open one folder after another, I am probably thinking about moving files between folders, or just check contents of one folder against the other one.

Was just wondering if some sort of tool existed, which would prevent subsequently opened folders from overlapping as much, as they do now.
