Is lenovo g565 32 bit or 64 bit?

I'm going to install windows 7 on my laptop again, but i can't remember if it's 32 bit or 64 bit. I had a look at my laptop on lenovo's website, which wasn't very helpful.

To know whether a computer has 32 or 64 bit capability is dependent on the CPU. Nowadays all CPUs would be 64 and 32 bit capable unless it's extraordinarily niche. On the OS (Operating System) side of things, Windows 10 on up only supports a 64 bit CPU. Windows 7 supports both 32 and 64 bit. At one time XP was only 32 bit capable but they later released XP 64 and I used it quite successfully allowing the use of more than 4 GB of RAM. In my case it was 8 GB of RAM.

According to two sources, your laptop sports an AMD Phenom II X3 N830 CPU which in fact is 64 bit capable.

This is a triple core CPU. Back then AMD made quad cores but one core may not have worked so they sold 'em as a triple core. In some rare cases, and with a certain BIOS, you could unlock a forth core in a triple core. The Black Editions I think were good for that.

Actually, your laptop may also use an AMD Turion II P540 CPU if it's not a Phenom. In either case both appear to be 64 bit capable.

Open Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\System and you will see the current specs. It also list the CPU, memory and OS (32 or 64 bits)

If you have 4G or less, I suggest you install Win 7 32 bits. Works better than 64 bits version.
