Solved Is my SSD going Bad ???

Hey guys since I moved over to Intel seems like my components have been having a bad taste in there mouth using this particular board

I think my SSD might be messed up and corrupted could be the host of my issues

I had issues with the CCC not being able to install I went to re install another driver per playing Bioshock Infinite my Gpu driver or direct x 11 crashed and asked to update it

trying to update was no go I had to do a system restore because the CCC kept freezing and going non responsive here is a screen shot of the timings and these are bad compared to before this is what the timings are supposed to be OCZ Agility 4 (EOL)

Also after the bootable update it changed the SSD from Agility 4 to 3 :sarc:

How is that even possible ????

Is there any way to go back to the old firmware? Also, you may want to try the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver instead of the generic Microsoft one. For the Z77 Sabertooth, I've found Version 11.1.0.1006 to work really well. I've not even bothered updating to the new Intel RST driver. Here is the driver page for the Sabertooth: Asus Z77 Sabertooth Support . The Rapid Storage Technology driver is under the SATA section.

Have you checked to see if TRIM is enabled?

Also, do make sure that your SSD is connected to a native Intel SATA3 port. Do not use any of the third party ports.

Also, I would install the AHCI drivers in Windows, and then set the SATA port mode to AHCI in BIOS.

Another thing you could try is in the BIOS, under the drive's properties, changed the driver type to Solid State Drive/r if there is an option to do so.

One more thing, if RAID is enabled, disable it for that port in BIOS.

yes trim achi is on

@Kelly I had to edit the post I got it to install now I am going to run a ssd mark and see if it helped

You should be able to flash it with what was on there if you can find the file, I believe. Is this where you went and is this the firmware you upgraded to? OCZ Toolbox Firmware and Support

I did that didn't have a option for that it had all the functions secure erase upgrade and temps

My SSD supposedly has the worst support because you have to use it as a second drive for it to even do a update the bootable works barley

i'm glad i just read this thread though as i'm in the middle of running a backup ready to update the firmware on my Agility 4, I think i'll leave it for now lol

When i checked the firmware on mine a few days ago it showed an earlier firmware version but now it shows the newest 1.52. Proper odd and i know it's not me going mad as i've been putting it off for a week or so lol. Arwell atleast i don't have to piss about with it now

Are you getting any help from OCZ? Those numbers are the same as my old 60gb A3 (2.222) in my old Athlon 64x2 box. You should be 2-5 times faster than those reports.

I found out to my Dismay it's performing fine and with the numbers they said ATTO bench would do it more justice

I have posted the link and info I got about my SSD and pretty much it's on the money

Closest to the numbers I am having is read 199 and write 98 now should I go replace it or should I roll with it until it starts acting funky is the question

This report is a $20 used Agility 3 I tossed on a 8 year old DFI board with a Athlon 64x2. I need to find out why it reports the pciide as bad. I'll get to it after the Dr's appointment if they let me come back home.

@Madcratebuilder the Samsung will perform because it's the best and uses a different controller /they said Marvel is better then Sandforce controllers and that is probably what the problem is

on my 8350 AMD rig this same OCZ Agility 3 scored a 7.9 md 7.8 on WEI now it barley gets a 7.6 from my intel set up

When I first got this SSD it was leaping by big numbers maybe over time it just degraded I was reading a secure erase would restore it back to former glory but I doubt it

I'm looking for that Samsung 840 pro 250 GB model maybe by Friday there on sale for 179.99 can't beat that

Also your performance is twice as bad with the agility then mine was there has to be something up with that

This program reports my SSD (samsung 830) as much worse than yours.
Using Crystaldiscmark or Samsung Benchmarks, they are much higher.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with those results. That is well within what the Samsung 830 can do. The results above were from the 840 Pro, which out of the box performs better than the last gen 830.

That DFI mobo does not have AHCI, IDE only, so it's a bit slower. Still have not found out why it reports 'bad'. Even with IDE it's still faster than the spinner on IDE.. Maybe I'll look for another <$20 mobo with AHCI.
