Is this a good gaming computer build?

Sorry, I'm more of a nVIDIA fan. GTX 660 Ti runs BF3 better than the 7870 so I'll be sticking with GTX 660 Ti.

Looks like a good build to me. In my opinion, the 660 TI is probably the best price/performance card on the market. Maybe this will help

There is no need to RAID your SSD's.........don't bother with it. Also, the 660Ti will more than likely run anything @ 1080p at 30fps+. Good lookin build! The only thing that sticks out to me is that monitor. I would invest in something a little bigger, say a 23-24". That is a good quality monitor though..LG IPS panels are very nice. Just my thoughts. I would even ditch the optical drive to get a better monitor if I had to......unless you really need one. I use a flash drive for all of the stuff I used to use an optical drive for these days.

why not invest in a water pump system they can be had for just 60 bucks or so if your not going to be doing overclocking you don't need nothing heavy but a light overclock a water pump will do well for you

everything else looks sweet also check microcenter again I seen your 660ti for like 240.00 something like that you might want to research a couple of those again as I just went to Fry's and Microcenter and of course couldn't help but to see what else I might would want

660 ti is one of the best cards out there, but...

Check for yourself on Notebookcheck. Maxing settings in latest games clearly shows that the card can run things at around 30 to 50 FPS. But anything below the super smooth 60 FPS is like crap, isn't it?

That's my opinion (maybe 60 FPS is a bit too much to consider), the OP needs to be informed of this if he's doing a one time investment so that he doesn't regret later.

No, 30fps+ is the general consensus for smooth game play. Sometimes, frame rates above 60 can give you problems as well. The thing is, I understand people want to just turn everything up wide open and balls out, but sometimes you are turning stuff up and turning stuff on that makes almost no difference in appearance, and kills frame rates. I recommend using google for every game and finding out what settings actually do before just cranking it to 11 and rippin the knob off. You realistically want to shoot for an AVERAGE fps of 30+ and I'm almost positive the 660Ti will do that at 1080p. Something to be aware of: GTX 670's are coming down in price and often a man can find one on sale........quickly making it the best bang for the buck in my opinion.

Oh well, fine, if 30 fps is the performance measuring factor here, then 660 ti will be too good as it can run almost anything at >30 fps, maxed out, @1080p.

I don't know what kind of gamer is the OP but I personally see a real lot of difference between 30 and 60 fps. 60 fps takes gaming to a new level.

60fps is indeed better......but 30fps is the line where a human eye can actually perceive the slightest bit of individual frames........generally speaking. I guess I will make a compromise and say if the OP is the type of gamer to just crank everything wide open without knowing what he is turning up, you might want something a little beefier to handle future games.

I currently have a Corsair Force 3 SSD I don't want to put to any waste, so I'd like to RAID0 them, and I would need the optical drive if I want to install physical games, as far as I know.

Is this monitor any g ood? 23" and the cheapest IPS I could fine on the store.

My vendor doesn't have any water cooling available, unfortunately. But I'm planning to overclock the i5-3570k up to 4,4GHz as I've heard. Is that possible with the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO?

660 ti would be pretty fine for that range.

Looks nice! I'd personally add a mechanical hard drive as well for media and other non-read-time-dependent files.

Yea it's fine just run games with AA off or at x2. Should do fine at 1080p with that card and the rest of the build is some good choices.
