Is Win Easy Transfer "machine specific?"

My daughter supports her business with a Win XP machine and this is now clearly faiing. Since the required new PC will not be available for a few days she is concerned that a total failure of the old PC will risk loss of documents and settings (although she has already backed up "My Documents" to an external HDD).
I recently re-formatted my own Win XP HDD and installed Win7 Home Premium instead using Win Easy Transfer with perfect results. I have now re-loaded the Easy Transfer programme onto a memory stick from my PC and, so far as I can see, my daughter should be able to use this to safely back-up both documents and settings to an external HDD pending delivery of the new machine.
Can anyone confirm that this is so, please? Failing this, could she use my own Win7 operating system disk (an OEM version) to obtain a copy of Easy Transfer?

why didn't I think of that????!!!!
Just a point to think about as well. Are you really going to feel comfortable letting some software decide what is important to you? I don't, and that's why I always back up my data manually if I was moving to a new computer or OS. It is my computer, I use it, and therefore I know where and what is important to me.
